About the Event

Venue: Monument Centre, Whitefield Estate, Penshaw, Houghton le-Spring, DH4 7RT

Facilitators: Jules Sharples (Trustee & Secretary), Justyna Walecka-Bowery (Volunteer)

Day/Time: Third or Last Sunday of each month (date list below) from 5:00pm until 6:00pm

How to find us: The Monument Centre is located within the grounds of Barnwell Academy (a primary school). When you come through the main gates, turn left past the main school building and the Monument Centre is at the far end of

the car park. The Family Room is the first door on the left, after you enter the building.

Facilities: The Family Room is usually used for play groups, breakfast clubs and after-school care, so is equipped with

toys and activities to keep children entertained. There’s also an outdoor play area. If you bring your children,

please ensure they remain under your supervision at all times, as the Monument Centre and Autistic Parents UK accept no liability for accident or injury.

There’s a small kitchen area in the Family Room with a kettle. Autistic Parents UK will provide tea, coffee, sugar and milk for the session. Toilet facilities (including disabled) are located just off the main reception,

there is one cubicle in each (not communal toilets).
