About the Event

Join us for this webinar on Establishing Good Routines & De-Escalating Meltdown Situations with Autistic speaker, writer and parent Pete Wharmby.

Being an Autistic parent to an Autistic child isn't always easy as sensory traits can clang against each other at times, during this webinar. Pete will explore ways to try and predict where these clashes will take place, to support you in pre-empting and avoiding the conditions that can lead to meltdown.

Pete Wharmby is an Autistic speaker, writer, tutor and parent, who is working to improve Autism acceptance in society by sharing insights and experiences of Autism to the widest possible audience.

After being diagnosed as Autistic at the age of 34 in 2017, Pete immersed himself in working to improve autistic awareness and acceptance, making the world a more suitable place for the neurodivergent community. Pete is most active on Twitter, where he goes by the handle @Commaficionado with 62.6k followers.

Pete is currently finishing his first book, for Jessica Kingsley Publishers, entitled ‘What I Want to Talk About’ – a book exploring his life’s special interests. It will be released in August 2022. Pete is also developing a second book on autism for a more general audience.
