What is Peer Assistance ?

Introducing Our Peer Assistance Service

We’re pleased to launch our new Peer Assistance Service, an extension of our peer support project.

Peer assistance offers practical, focused help within a body doubling space. Body doubling means having someone alongside you, virtually, while you work on a task. You are not doing it alone, even though you are still in control of the task.

This shared space can make a real difference. It can help with motivation, reduce overwhelm, and make it easier to start or complete tasks that might otherwise feel difficult or stuck.

Each session is a one-off, 50-minute appointment designed to support you with a single task. If needed, there may be the option to arrange a follow-up or additional session.

To match you with the right peer supporter, we will ask for a few details about what you would like help with and what you want to achieve during the session.

What this service is not:
This is not expert, legal, consultancy, or professional advice. We are unable to support with legal matters, court proceedings, or anything requiring formal professional guidance.

We also will not complete tasks or forms for you or tell you what you should write. Our role is to support you to take your own steps, at your own pace. Our peer supporter will be alongside you, cheering you on.

What we can help with:

  • Sitting alongside you while you start or work through a task

  • Breaking tasks down into manageable steps

  • Preparing for appointments by thinking through things together

  • Creating a list of questions you may want to ask at a meeting

  • Getting started with applications and forms

  • Support with everyday task management, such as meal planning or creating a shopping list

Above all, we offer a supportive, non-judgemental virtual space where you can focus on the task in hand with someone alongside you, so it feels more manageable and achievable.
